Valves of the Heart
This video discusses the anatomy of the heart in particular the 4 valves. These flaps of tissue prevent blood from flowing backward. The valves are located between the atria and the ventricles, and also leading from the heart.
This video considers blood pressure. When ventricles contract, they increase pressure on the blood. The resulting force that blood exerts against the artery walls is called blood pressure.
This video shows the process of vascular degneration starting with intimal trauma, fatty streaking and plaque formation which can lead to leg pain (claudication), heart attack and stroke.
If you could peer into the arteries of a newborn baby, you would probably see fairly smooth blood vessels. If you could inspect the arteries of an older person, you might find plaque. This video looks at atherosclerosis and heart attacks. It also discusses treatments such as balloon angioplasty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg0VXYFI9zs&feature=youtu.be
