Valves of the Heart
This video discusses the anatomy of the heart in particular the 4 valves. These flaps of tissue prevent blood from flowing backward. The valves are located between the atria and the ventricles, and also leading from the heart.
Blood flows throughout the body via blood vessels. These are the tubes that form a closed pipeline within the body. There are three types of vessels and this video discusses their structure and function.
If you could peer into the arteries of a newborn baby, you would probably see fairly smooth blood vessels. If you could inspect the arteries of an older person, you might find plaque. This video looks at atherosclerosis and heart attacks. It also discusses treatments such as balloon angioplasty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg0VXYFI9zs&feature=youtu.be
