                                         During much of the Middle Ages the Europeans were isolated from the world around them, but after the Crusades the Europeans began to trade with the rest of the world.  This brought many new things into Europe.  Many of these new things were good, but some were bad.  One of the bad consequences of trading with the rest of the world is that the Europeans also came into contact with some deadly diseases.
